  • October 21, 2008 - Kabul, Afghanistan: Gayle Williams, 34 years, South African-British national, was killed by two TALIBANs in the street by six gun shots. Gayle has worked faithfully for many years with SERVE (Serving Emergency Relief and Vocational Enterprises) and worked with handicapped Afghans. The TALIBAN said, she was executed because she was working with an Christian organisation and was spreading her religion. See Afghanistan - Persecution - for more details.
  • May 2, 2008 - Indonesia: Four Christians were killed and 56 wounded in the village of Horale on the island of Seram in the Molucca province in Indonesia by a mob from the neighbouring village of Saleman which is predominantly Muslim.
  • Oct. 7, 2007. Gaza. Rami Khader Ayyad, 32, the director of the Gaza Strip's only all-Christian book store was found shot and stabbed to death on Sunday (October 7, 2007) in what appears to have been an act of Muslim aggression. He had been accused by area Muslims of spreading the Gospel. On Saturday he left the book store by car, he was followed by another car, he phoned his family about this observation, but did not come home. He leaves behind his pregnant wife with two small children. February 2008: the murderers were not yet found. The widow, Pauline Ayyad has given birth to a baby girl.
  • Sep. 27, 2007. Pakistan. Bo Brekke, 50, territorial head of the Salvation Army in Pakistan, was murdered at the Salvation Army campus in Lahore; the suspect is a man who was financially censured earlier by Brekke.
  • September 2007 - TRANSWORLD RADIO: Christian Worker Shot Dead for Preaching: Villagers in Jharkhand state arranged for a Christian worker, Ajay Topno, to be shot to death earlier this month for converting three tribal families to Christianity, according to police. The 38-year-old Topno, who worked for this media organization, was found dead with bullet wounds on September 19 in a jungle near Sahoda village, in Lapung block of Ranchi district.   • On September 5, 2007, Nigsti Haile, 33, was tortured to death in the Weaa Military Training Centre, Eritrea.
  • April 18, 2007: Five young defendants are accused of murdering the German Tilmann Geske and the Turkish Christians Necati Aydin and Ugur Yuksel in Malatya, Southeast Turkey. They were members of the Bible publishing firm Zirve Publishing House.
  • On March 26, 2007, a group of Muslim youth attacked and killed evangelist Taddese Tefera Akufo, in Jima, Oromiya Region, Ethiopia.
  • 2007 According to the Vatican during the year 21 Catholic missionaries were killed by force.
  • 2006 - Bashir Ahmed Tantray, a 50-year-old engineer who worked in Srinagar, the capital of the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, was murdered on November 21, 2006.
  • 2006 - October 18 in Begi and Gidami, Oromiya Region, Ethiopia clashes between Muslims and Protestants resulted in 9 deaths, including the death of two Protestant preachers, whose throats were slashed, and over 100 injured.
  • 2006 - Missionary Vijay Kumar is publicly stoned by Hindu extremists for Christian preaching.
  • 2006 According to the Vatican during the year 24 Catholic missionaries were killed by force.
  • 2005 - North Korea: Though no exact figures can be given, hundreds of Christians were killed by the regime in 2005.
  • 2005 According to the Vatican during the year 25 Catholic missionaries were killed by force.
  • 2004 - Four Southern Baptist missionaries are killed by gunman in Iraq.
  • 2002 - Militants throw grenades into the Protestant International Church in Islamabad, Pakistan, during a church service. Five persons are killed and 46 are wounded.
  • 2001 - New Tribes Missionaries Martin and Gracia Burnham are kidnapped in the Philippines by Muslim terrorist group;
Baptist missionary Roni Bowers and her infant daughter are killed when a Peruvian Air Force jet fires on their small float-plane. Though severely wounded in both legs, missionary pilot Kevin Donaldson landed the burning plane on the Amazon River;
Six masked gunmen shoot up a church in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, killing 15 Pakistani Christians.
  • 2000 - Militants detonate two bombs in a Christian church in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, killing seven persons and injuring 70 others.
