Begun: 1904 (S.U.M.)
Previous names: Sudan United Mission (S.U.M.) then to reflect increasing partnerships changed to Action Partners in 1989,
and now in 2007 aligned ourselves with Pioneers International as a mobilisation base with 176 teams in 72 countries.
[edit] Passion
Our passion is to reach out to people and places of greatest need and and least opportunity ie to 'start fires where there aren't any'. This is done by:-
- Releasing people into global mission through teams.
- Providing resources and training.
- Supporting church planting initiatives, especially those by indigenous believers.
- Reaching out in friendship to ethnic minorities
If you have a particular people group or place in mind if we are not already there then we are open discussing the facilitation of your vision.

[edit] Sudan
- For more than a century, Action Partners-Pioneers has worked in the Nuba Mountain region in Sudan. There is a team working currently in northern Sudan, as well as a second team working with another ministry called ACROSS in the south. They are doing a broad range of work: education, health care, leadership development, evangelism, and other church-related ministries. With such a long history of violence in this region, the need is greater now than ever before.
- Pray that the hardships and poverty will turn the peoples of Sudan to the Lord. Pray for the Church in the south to keep its eyes on the Lord and to not give in to bitterness and revenge as they face their oppressors. Pray that tribalism and hatred will be broken. Pray that the violence will end.
